In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mtd: rawnand: serialize lock/unlock against other NAND operations nand_lock() and nand_unlock() call into chip->ops.lock_area/unlock_area without holding the NAND device lock. On controllers that implement SET_FEATURES via multiple low-level PIO commands, these can race with concurrent UBI/UBIFS background erase/write operations that hold the device lock, resulting in cmd_pending conflicts on the NAND controller. Add nand_get_device()/nand_release_device() around the lock/unlock operations to serialize them against all other NAND controller access.
Are you affected?
Enter the version you run. The result uses only the ranges stored on this record.
The check returns affected, not affected, or incomplete. It does not guess a version that is missing from the record.

What to do
Three questions, each answered from this record only. Confirm the vendor advisory before you patch.
Should you patch?
No confirmed exploitation is on record for CVE-2026-23434. EPSS is 0.13%. Act only if a listed version of linux kernel is installed.
Which versions are affected?
Compare what you have installed with linux/linux kernel 5.7; linux/linux kernel < 5.10.253; linux/linux kernel < 5.15.203; linux/linux kernel < 6.1.167. Compare the installed version with the linked vendor advisory before you change production.
What should an analyst verify?
CWE-362: Race Condition. EPSS 0.13%. There is no CISA KEV listing. No Exploit-DB or Metasploit reference is linked. Use the source links for the original advisory.
