### Summary Brian Mariani from DigitalCanion SA identified at least two XSS vulnerabilities in **OPNsense 26.7.1_1.** One of them is a Stored XSS vulnerability. It allows an attacker to store malicious JavaScript code within the application. Every user who logs into the application, including users with root privileges, may be affected when the stored payload is rendered. The second vulnerability is a Reflected XSS, where the malicious JavaScript code is reflected in the application's response and executed in the victim's browser. ### Details The Stored XSS vulnerability can be found under **Interfaces → Assignments, in the Description field.** An attacker can inject arbitrary JavaScript code into this field. For example, the following payload can be used to demonstrate the vulnerability: **'> alert('xss') ** The injected JavaScript code is executed when the affected data is subsequently rendered by the application. The impact can be observed across multiple pages that display the interface configuration, including Dashboard and Interfaces → Overview. The second XSS is a reflected one, and can be found on **Firewall: Log Files: Live View.** When injecting javascript code onto the search field and press the Apply button, javascript code is executed inmediatly. ### PoC You can reproduce the vulnerability as explained in details item. ### Impact _What kind of vulnerability is it? Who is impacted?_ Cross Site Scripting, stored and reflected. All users are impacted even root.
