## Summary When newsletter double opt-in is enabled, an unauthenticated Store API caller could activate a newsletter subscription without proving control of the email address. ## Impact This allowed unauthorized newsletter subscriptions, including subscriptions for email addresses belonging to existing customers. The issue affects the consent and integrity of newsletter recipient data but does not enable account takeover or data disclosure. ## Affected versions - All Shopware versions before 6.6.10.25, including 6.5.x and earlier, and 6.6.0.0 through 6.6.10.24 - Shopware 6.7.0.0 through 6.7.14.0 ## Patches The issue is fixed in Shopware 6.6.10.25 and 6.7.14.1. The patch ensures that newsletter activation requires the configured double-opt-in confirmation flow. ## Workarounds Administrators who cannot upgrade should temporarily disable public newsletter subscriptions until a patched version can be installed. ## Credits Thanks to @hataiit9x for responsibly reporting this vulnerability.
