Craft allows a non-administrator control panel user to obtain a valid HMAC over an attacker-selected Twig object template. The endpoint forwards request-controlled element-instance configuration to . With , a non-modal context, and a templated , Craft signs the supplied template with its global security key and returns the signed value in generated HTML. The signature is not bound to its original purpose. The same signed value can be submitted as the parameter to the login action. Following successful authentication, Craft validates the signature and evaluates the template through the unsandboxed path. This reaches native PHP callables and permits operating system command execution with the PHP worker’s privileges. ### Impact * Successful exploitation gives a control panel user arbitrary command execution as the PHP/web-server worker. This can expose the Craft security key, database, and environment credentials, CMS content, and other files readable by that process. Report ID: 1882
